Semantiqs is a Meta Ads automation platform that helps advertisers optimise their campaigns through automated rules. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it. We keep this short and plain — no legalese.
01
Who we are
Semantiqs ("we", "us", "our") is an advertising automation service. Our platform connects to your Meta ad account and automatically pauses or unpauses ads based on performance thresholds you define.
For questions about this policy, contact us at privacy@semantiqs.com.
02
What data we collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:
- Account information — your email address and name when you sign up
- Business profile data — answers you provide during onboarding (industry, margins, CPA targets, spend ranges) used to configure your automation thresholds
- Meta ad account data — campaign names, ad set names, ad names, status, and performance metrics (spend, CPA, ROAS, impressions) pulled via the Meta Marketing API
- Meta access token — a long-lived OAuth token that allows us to read your account and execute pause/unpause actions on your behalf
- Automation logs — a record of every action Semantiqs takes on your account, including the reason and metric snapshot at the time
03
What we do not collect
We do not store your ad creatives, images, or videos on our servers — we render them live, on request, straight from Meta's own servers, and discard them once the page closes. We do not read messages, personal user data from people who see your ads, or any data outside the Meta Marketing API and the minimum Page data needed to show creative previews.
- No tracking pixels or cookies beyond session authentication
- No selling or sharing of your data with third parties for advertising purposes
- No access to your personal Facebook profile or friends list
- No posting, editing, or managing anything on your Facebook Page — Page access is read-only and limited to the Page name, profile picture, and what's needed to display your own ad videos
- No access to Instagram accounts or any asset outside ad account and ad-creative management
04
How we use your data
- To authenticate your account and maintain your session
- To configure your automation thresholds based on onboarding answers
- To pull ad performance data and evaluate it against your thresholds
- To execute pause and unpause actions via the Meta Marketing API
- To generate your account audit and health score
- To display your account activity and optimisation history in the dashboard
05
Meta permissions we request
When you connect your Meta account, we request the following OAuth scopes:
- ads_read — to read campaign, ad set, ad, and performance data
- ads_management — to pause and unpause ads based on your configured thresholds
- business_management — to identify and access the ad accounts associated with your Business Manager
- pages_show_list and pages_read_engagement — to render video and image previews of your own ad creatives inside Semantiqs, so you don’t need to open Meta Ads Manager to see what an ad looks like
We never use these permissions to create, edit, or publish ad content, Page posts, or anything on your Facebook Page. All write actions are limited to ad status changes (pause/unpause) that you have authorised through your threshold configuration.
06
Data storage and security
Your data is stored in Supabase, a SOC 2 Type II compliant database platform hosted on AWS. Access tokens are encrypted at rest. We use HTTPS for all data in transit.
We implement row-level security — each user can only access their own data. No Semantiqs employee can access your ad account without your explicit consent.
07
Data retention and deletion
You can delete your account at any time by contacting privacy@semantiqs.com. Upon deletion:
- Your Meta access token is revoked immediately
- All profile data, onboarding answers, and automation logs are deleted within 30 days
- Ad account data pulled from Meta is deleted within 30 days
You can also disconnect your Meta account at any time from the dashboard. This revokes our access immediately and stops all automations.
08
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR, CCPA, or other applicable laws, including:
- The right to access the personal data we hold about you
- The right to correct inaccurate data
- The right to request deletion of your data
- The right to data portability
- The right to withdraw consent at any time
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@semantiqs.com.
09
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will notify you by email of any material changes. Continued use of Semantiqs after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
